ACTING WORKSHOP SERIES FOR KIDS (3-7 YEAR OLDS)

Join Emily Vorp of Stage a Story for a creative drama workshop perfect for our littlest actors. During the workshop kids will listen to a story, play drama games related to the story, make a simple prop or costume piece to help them tell the story, and will finally act out the story. Sarah studied music at the University of Vermont and is a certified children’s music teacher. LITTLE CHEFS (2 AND UP)

Chef's hat - check!  Apron - check!  Now get ready for a super fun hand-ons cooking experience.  Our goal is to plant the seeds of healthy eating early on.  Have your child expand their taste buds by creating easy, healthy, and yummy recipes every week.  Emphasis will be placed on using your 5 senses to smell, touch, taste, look and listen during the culinary adventure.  Children will learn a variety of skills including: kitchen safety, following directions, measuring, nutrition, and more.  They will work as a team cooking, setting the table, serving, and cleaning up all while practicing their conversation and social skills!  The menu for each class will use the freshest fruit and vegetables from local farms.  *Open play included before and/or after class!

Mommy & ME YOGA

This is the best “first class” to take with your baby.  We know it’s how hard it is to get back into shape, which is why we created a class to help strengthen your muscles and simultaneously get some much needed calm.  Learn new and fun ways to move with your baby, encourage tummy time, and prepare for gross motor skills such as crawling!  Plus this class includes open play before and/or after class - what better way for your little ones (and you!) to create new long-lasting friendships!

PARENT & ME LITTLE DANCERS (3 & UP)

Come & learn ballet, jazz, and hip hop with an expert! Parent participation welcome. Every class will end with a story time + craft. Open play included before and/or after class! Jamie Wignall, the instructor and fellow local mom, was born and raised in Los Angeles, California and has been dancing since the age of 3. She attended the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts before getting her BFA in dance from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Upon graduation, Jamie danced in 3 professional dance companies and performed all over California. She has also been on TV/Film/Print. Jamie then moved to New York City to earn her MFA in dance from New York University, Tisch School for the Arts. Jamie has taught dance to ages 3 through adult in ballet, pointe, jazz, tap, hip hop, and creative movement. *Open play is included before and/or after class!

LIL’ ROLLERS & MIGHTY MOVERS

Daryl Arora, Pediatric OT, Mom of 2, and Owner of Sprouting Babies OT returns to Princeton Playspace!  She created Sprouting Babies to bridge the gap between therapy models by providing quality, affordable, and personalized care, without limits set upon by insurance, to help each child grow and reach his or her fullest potential.  She offers a variety of services from tummy time consults and developmental check ins to infant bodywork pre/post frenectomy.  She is SO excited to be offering two special parent/child playgroups to pre-crawling babies and pre-walkers at Princeton Playspace!  The classes will run 2 Tuesdays a month starting on September 12th.

Her Lil' Rollers class will be offered to infants (0-6mo) from 10:30-11:15 and her Mighty Movers class will be offered to infants/young toddlers (6-14mo) from 11:30-12:15.  All classes will be run by Daryl and will include lots of parent education. Classes will be offered on 9/12, 9/26, 10/10, 10/24, 11/7, 11/21, 12/5, and 12/19.  Payment is $30/class via Venmo and you can join ANYTIME or pay for all 8 classes upfront for a special offer of $200!

PRINCETON PLAYSPACE PRESCHOOL PREP (AGES 2.5 & UP)

Looking for a gentle separation program for your child before preschool begins?  Drop your child off at our amazing preschool prep program!  With the presence of our certified teachers, we work closely with your family to achieve separation success. Parents are welcome to wait in our cafe area or run errands.  Using a structured preschool-like routine, we create engaging lessons that are sensory based, open-ended, age-appropriate, and child-driven.  Our goal is to encourage independence, language, and social skills in the most natural way possible keeping in mind unique learning styles.  Class starts off with exploration of books and toys, followed by circle time and a themed lesson, open-ended art stations and sensory play, music and movement, wrap-up, and lastly a healthy snack (included) plus open play. SIGN LANGUAGE STORY TIME & SENSORY PLAY CLASS (ALL AGES WELCOME!)

This is the ultimate language & sensory class for your child where you let them use all of their 5 senses! During our monthly classes run by Michelle Croll, Founder of Happy Hands, children will get to immerse themselves in story time that encourages sign language. In terms of research, sign language has been proven to encourage verbal language and also helps decrease frustrations related to communication. We will then do a themed sensory play activity related to the story time. For instance if the theme is dessert we may engage in pretend baking. They could be presented with coconut flour, water, bowls, spoons, whisks, measuring cups, and more to explore! Children are free to mix, sift, whisk, pour, bang with a spoon during their “baking” project. Now let’s get messy!  *Open play included before and/or after class!

TWEENS & Teens SOCIAL SKILLS CLUBHOUSE (12 & UP)

Social skills are what we use to communicate and interact with others, both verbally and non-verbally. This program is all about practicing social skills in a safe peer group setting to help generalize it to every day environments such as the home, school, camp, work, etc. Social skills targeted include reading body language, eye contact, greetings, listening to our communication partner, taking on other’s perspectives, empathy, topic initiation, and topic maintenance.   The instructor targets the skills through structured conversation, role play, stories, science experiments, art, cooking, etc.  We want each child to make meaningful contributions to their everyday interactions, build rapport with others, and establish long lasting relationships with their peers during their middle school years, high school years, and on. Vocational Skills Group (14 & up)

We view our community as a melting pot.  Alpin Rezvani, co-founder of Princeton Playspace and speech pathologist, has always dreamt of incorporating all different types of learners in the workplace by focusing on their strengths.  Within this program, young adults will get the chance to practice their vocational skills and contribute to their community by helping out at Princeton Playspace.  We will work on listening during trainings, sustaining attention during tasks, social skills in the workplace, asking for help, following multiple step directions, and more!  Our young adults will start off with structured activities, then move onto being closely shadowed by gradually fading assistance, and their end goal is independently performing workplace tasks.  Our wish is to increase awareness and acceptance within the community simultaneously encouraging all individuals to reach their full potential!
