Lauren Caravano is happy to be launching the Little Learners Preschool Prep program at Princeton Playspace! She enjoys working with children and believes every child should be valued and treated with respect. An education should empower a person and help him or her make a positive contribution in our world. Lauren has a BA in Elementary Education and English. She has taught first, second, and fourth grades in South Brunswick, NJ before having her own children. She is the proud mother of two daughters, Adeline and Eliana. Lauren is also a Kids Yoga teacher and is excited to incorporate a bit of this into the program! Sharing in a child's development is such an important role and Lauren is happy to be a part of that for these "Little Learners".
Margo dreamed of being a teacher since she was a “Little Learner” herself! She has a degree in Elementary Education and Psychology from The College of New Jersey. Previously, she taught 3rdand 4th grade in the South Brunswick School District before her second child was born in 2014. Having her own young children inspired her to teach Early Childhood Education and she is excited to work with the Little Learners for the second year. She loves the wonder, imagination, excitement, and joy she witnesses in preschool-aged children and shares that same excitement and joy incorporating art, music, and movement into lessons! As a teacher, she understands children as individual learners with unique needs and abilities. She believes that children should feel safe and valued as members of the class community in order to grow socially, emotionally, and academically.
Kim Powers (substitute teacher)
Kim Powers is excited to be on the teaching team for Little Learners Preschool Prep. She completed her Undergraduate Degree in Elementary Education at Seton Hall University and completed her Masters in Special Education at Rider University. She holds certifications in Elementary Education and Special Education. Kim previously taught in the South Brunswick School District from March 2008 to 2014. She has taught Kindergarten and third grade. She was also a self-contained autism teacher. She believes in the unique abilities of each child and feels that these abilities should be used to help each of her students become the most successful versions of themselves. Learning should be fun and exciting with an educator who celebrates student strengths and encourages them to build upon their skills by creating an environment that is designed to facilitate independent learning and exploration.
